Hi Tracey

So pleased you had some good news at last with your son's results. Hope you all enjoyed the Harvester meal.

It does not seem right when you are obviously suffering so much at the moment that you should have to go to work. I used to work in school and was off for 6 months. I had to go to occupational health and they tried to find me a better seating position to support the children I was working with. As this was not a practical solution I was advised to go for redeployment. This worked well for me as I got an admin job where the seating position was fine. I realise that this is probably not applicable to you but it may be worth considering if there is something more suitable for you. Your employer has a duty of care to you and you should not feel pressurised to go in if you are not up to it.

Hope the depo injection brings relief and that the Enbrel is successful. I have been on it for 8 months and it has been a miracle for me and given me my life back.

Best Wishes

Sue

Hi Trce,

So glad your son got the results he deserved.

Look nobody is indispensable and they will just have to cover you at work if you are not well enough to go in. Your health and family are far more important, what thanks would you get if you went into work and was suffering big time because of it.

We all know how stressful those first few days at secondary school are in September and the amount of problems as a learning mentor you will have to deal with, from tearful children to angry parents, you will not get a moments piece.

Don't for christs sake let it stress you out, if you can go in, go, if not leave it until you feel better.

Take care

Well folks,

Back to school/work tomorrow. I am feeling slightly anxious as I am still in pain with my feet, not to mention new pain in both hands today. I hope the pain and swelling will have subsided by tomorrow morning as they are very red now, so have hopefully already reached their peak, so to speak.

I will just have to be rather slower than normal and they will have to lump it, is my thoughts, at least I'm there hey??

Have a good day everyone

Lots of love

Trace xx

Evening all,

Well today went ok, but we were sat a lot, training and listening was the order of the day, however, my feet and ankles are very swollen and sore. I made sure everyone knows about my hospital stay and that the Rhuemmy team wanted to sign me off.

I don't feel that I'm being brave, I'm just trying to keep my job and ensure my Son gets thru 6th form. We all do what we have to, don't we.

But thank you for the recognition, especially as sometimes I feel I moan too much lol.

Well, it's friday tomorrow, yr 7's in, so lets see how I feel at the end of the day tomorrow, thanks again for your words of support and encouragement.

Hope you are all well and pain free

Trace xx

Hi Trace

Pleased to hear your first day back was reasonably okay, fingers crossed for Year 7 day. At least it's followed by the weekend!

Glad your son has done well with his GCSEs (my son did too!) and is moving on to 6th form; just where two of mine are heading, one to upper sixth today, one to lower sixth on Tuesday; third son heads of to University of Lincoln in two weeks! My little boys all growing up!! Scared

Take care and don't forget to pace yourself!

Hello Rose,

The yr 7's are so lovely, so innocent and sweet. Watch them change lol.

I have come home in a bit of a state today. Feet and ankles are very painful and very swollen. My right elbow is very sore too, possibly the start of a flare there I think.

I also have a terrible ache in my right side/back rib cage, am putting this down to 'bloating' which I rang my GP about today, so will be taking some relief meds tonight.

I hope I can continue to work everyday, I do love my job and it means so much to me, but am feeling the 'struggle' today and have only done 2 days. Confused

Anyway, on a brighter note, it's the weekend and I'm going to rest and recoup.

love to you all

Dear Lyn,

Congrats on your Sons' results too, 6th form is a very good place for them to be right now with very few other options open to this yr group this yr. Good luck to all 3 of your boys, you must be brimming with pride as I am with mine.

He had his 6th form interview today and was accepted on the spot.

Love to you Lyn

Hi Trace

Pleased to hear that your son has been accepted into 6th form; I have to agree it is the best place for them to be right now. Despite living in a holiday resort where you might expect plenty of seasonal employment none of my four have even been able to secure holiday jobs never mind anything more permanent. It's a very sad state of affairs all round.

Ian should have been going to uni at the same time as his twin brother but missed out by one grade and couldn't get in anywhere. Fortunately he has the chance to return to college to take a course in Business which will hopefully strengthen his application for next time. Louis is taking, Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Economics ... all way beyond me !! What has your son chosen to do?

Hope you have managed to get some rest over the weekend and the week ahead won't be too difficult for you. Don't forget to rest at every possible opportunity.

Take care Trace

Hello Tracey

Hoping you are rested over the week end and that things settled a bit. It is a damn nuisance though
when we work, and then when its time to 'play' there is no engergy to do it. Certainly understand how
you are feeling

Take care don't tire yourself too much.

Hello All,

Well it's now thursday and was forced to phone in sick this morning. I have been struggling very badly all week and to add to it i have pulled a muscle in my back. I left work early yesterday and got some Diazapam to help relax my back. But, I coughed last night as I seem to be rather chesty at the moment and ended up doing more damage to my back. My God it hurt!!!! Made me scream out.

My colleagues at work keep asking why I'm there, my answer? Cos i need to keep my job. Most of them have been very supportive and helpful, bless them.

I intend to return to work tomorrow. My Enbrel was delivered yesterday, so just need to wait for the nurse to contact me to show me how to administer them.

I have an apt with my Rheummy nurse on tuesday, so I was thinking that if I hadn't had my training, I would take it with me and she could teach me. What do you think?

I sincerely hope you are all well and pain free

Trace xx

hi Trace,

sorry to hear you are struggling still.

re the Enbrel, my Rheumy Nurse did my first injection for me and i went over to her yesterday to do my second one as she watched.

i'm sure if you don't hear from the community nurse your Rheumy Nurse will help.

maybe worth a phone call to her first though.

hope things improve for you soon.
